QBE Business Insurance Solution (BIS) - Work Injury Compensation

Most Insurers follow the schedule of compensation stipulated under the Act. Here is how QBE BIS Work Injury shines in providing broader cover taking care of both employers and employees at the same time.


Medical expenses

Up to $45,000 or 1 year from the date of the accident, whichever comes first. Up to $300,000 or 1 year from the date of the accident, whichever comes first.


For hospitalisation leave (HL)

Medical leave wages are calculated based on your average monthly earnings (AME). This may be different from your gross monthly salary.


For outpatient MC or light duties

Up to 14 days For MC: Full AME

For light duties:
Full AME or actual wages, whichever is higher
For MC: Full AME

For light duties:
Employee’s actual wages + any shortfall

Shortfall = AME − actual wages for that period

Up to 30 days of medical leave and light duties.

when the employee is on light duties —
the shortfall (if any) in the employee’s actual wages for that period below the employee’s AME;

15th day to 1 year of accident For MC: 2/3 AME

For light duties:
2/3 AME or actual wages, whichever is higher
For MC: 2/3 AME

For light duties:
Employee’s actual wages + any shortfall

Shortfall = 2/3 AME − actual wages for that period
From 31th day to 1 year of accident

(i) when the employee is on medical leave — two‑thirds of the employee’s AME; and

(ii) when the employee is on light duties — the shortfall (if any) in the employee’s actual wages for that period below two‑thirds of the employee’s AME.


QBE BIS extensions (Non-Act coverages)

Common Law Up to $15,000,000
To And Fro Work - travelling between place of employment and place of residence all within Singapore. (Excluding Two-Wheeler) No substantial interruption or deviation from the journey which is unconnected with his employment.

optional extensions (Non-Act coverages)

To And Fro Work (including Two-Wheeler) Compensation is limited to 50% of what the injured rider/pillion would have been entitled to under the Work Injury Compensation Act.
- further extension is available to include outside Singapore cover (e.g. JB - Singapore) Coverage outside Singapore is limited to $25,000 per employee and $250,000 in the aggregate for all employees in any one Period of Insurance
